“Rostrato” vase, blown in handmade Murano glass
Completely handmade in Murano by Roberto Beltrami and his team.
This majestic centerpiece is crafted from an amber base that forms its inside, then melted with scorching details called "rostrums".
The "Rostrato" technique is applied, layer by layer, like an incandescent "rope" all along the external diameter of the cup.
Once this glass ring has been melted, it is then pulled, "spike" by "spike", with the tweezer.
A very precise, quick and intense process, which is very difficult due to the huge and scorching mass of glass which has to be handled and must be kept at a stable temperature in order not to occur into the risk of thermal shock which can break the entire work.
