Murano blown handmade red glass sculpture
The Doge was the “king” of the lagoon of Venice. The Doge Palace in San Marco square was his residence, and he was the most important position of the Serenissima Republic. His outfit was always based on a baroque tunic ornated with embroidery and inlays, covered by a fur, and the typical “corno”, a headdress that only he could wear.
Sculpture entirely handmade in blown Murano glass, starting from a base of milky white glass, covered by red glass, in order to obtain this opaque finish.
