Cookie Policy

What is a cookie and what is its purpose

Cookies were created in 1994 by Lou Montulli, a Netscape employee, to solve problems related to the limitations in identifying computers connected to a web page. Without cookies, websites cannot know if two requests come from the same device, which is why it is necessary to assign them labels. Cookies are stored on the visitor's computer hard disk or memory. A cookie is a small-sized file that is sent from a web server (which is the computer running the visited website) to the user's browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and stored on your device when you visit a website like wavemuranoglass.com. Cookies allow efficient operation of the site and improve its performance; they also provide information to the owner of wavemuranoglass.com for statistical or advertising purposes, mainly to personalize the browsing experience by remembering preferences and navigation modes.

A cookie is similar to a personal identification card, whose task is to inform Wave Murano Glass when you return. Many websites, including wavemuranoglass.com (the "Site"), use them. Cookies indicate how often you visit pages, which helps to understand which information may interest visitors. This way, we can offer more content that interests specific behavior and less that is not in line with what may not interest the user. Cookies help to be more efficient and store preferences and usernames, record products and services, and customize pages.

Cookies do not collect directly identifiable user information. In fact, Wave Murano Glass cannot obtain any directly identifiable personal information (e.g., name, surname) through cookies unless provided directly by the user. Furthermore, another website cannot use a cookie issued by the Site to access other information contained in the user's computer. Once saved on the computer, the cookie can only be read by the website that created it (and therefore, in our case, by wavemuranoglass.com). In practice, if you do not sign up for the Site and do not enter personal information, the only thing the server knows is that someone with that cookie has returned to visit us. Nothing else.

Cookies can be "session" cookies (when they are stored exclusively for the duration of the browsing session on the site and are deleted when the browser is closed) or "permanent" cookies (stored for a longer time, until they expire or are deleted by the user).

Cookies used by the Site

Wave Murano Glass uses different types of cookies and similar technologies, each of which has a specific function. To optimize the use of the site and the complete functionality of the online purchasing process and personalized features, the computer, tablet, or mobile device must accept cookies. Our information on cookie usage provides information about the types of cookies used and how to manage, control, and delete them. We would like to specify that cookies do not damage your device.

Navigation Cookies

From the first access, these cookies allow the site to function correctly and allow you to view content on your device, recognizing the language and the market of the country from which you have chosen to connect. If you are a registered user, they will allow you to be recognized and access the services offered in dedicated areas. Navigation cookies are technical cookies and are necessary for the operation of the site.

These cookies are usually temporary, known as "session cookies," and are released by the Site onto the user's computer during navigation but are stored exclusively for the duration of the browsing session itself. This means that when the user closes their browser, the cookies are automatically deleted and disappear, without being stored on the computer. They consist of random numbers generated by the server and serve to allow safe and efficient exploration of the Site.

  • Functional Cookies These cookies allow, based on your expressed request, to facilitate user navigation within the Site, for example, recognizing you on subsequent accesses so that you do not have to enter your data at each visit (e.g., "Recognize me next time," authentication cookies). If you have added items to your Shopping Bag and closed the session without completing the purchase and without removing them, these cookies allow you to continue shopping the next time you access the site (within a limited period) by finding the selected items. Functional cookies are not essential for the operation of the site, but they improve the quality and browsing experience.
  • Analytical Cookies These cookies are used to process statistical analyses on users' browsing methods on our site. Wave Murano Glass processes the results of these analyses anonymously and exclusively for statistical purposes only if the service provider uses cookies in connection with the browser used or on other devices used to browse the site. The site uses some third-party services that, entirely independently, install their cookies.
  • Marketing and Profiling Cookies These cookies aim to create user profiles to send commercial messages that meet preferences expressed during the visit or improve your browsing experience: while browsing our site, these cookies are useful for showing you products of your interest or similar to those you have viewed. Such cookies are released by the Site onto the user's computer during navigation and are stored even beyond the duration of the browsing session itself until they expire or are deleted by the user themselves (known as "permanent cookies"). The use of such cookies requires the user's express and informed consent.
  • Social Network Cookies These cookies are necessary to allow your social account to interact with our Site. They serve, for example, to let you express your appreciation and share it with your social friends. Social network cookies are not necessary for navigation.
  • Information on cookies released by Wave Murano Glass Regarding the cookies used on the Site, we provide the following information:
  • The domain name from which the Site server transmits cookies is: www.wavemuranoglass.com
  • Purpose of collection: cookies are used for (i) allowing easier and faster navigation within the Site or carrying out anonymous statistical analysis/verifications on the use of the site (technical cookies); (ii) improving the browsing experience by analyzing user preferences (e.g., pages visited, products saved in the cart, etc.) and optimizing your online experience by suggesting the best products and promotions based on browsing (profiling cookies).
  • Validity of cookies: the Site uses session cookies (i.e., cookies that are automatically deleted when the browser is closed) and permanent cookies (i.e., cookies that are stored until any eventual deletion by the user), whose duration does not exceed 90 days in any case.
  • Necessity to accept cookies: accepting cookies is not mandatory; however, we remind you that disabling navigation or functional cookies can cause the site to malfunction and/or limit the service we offer.
  • Data communication: the information collected through cookies is confidential and not communicated to third parties.
  • Third-party cookies The Site uses so-called "third-party cookies" (e.g., Google Analytics and Social Network cookies), which are released and managed by parties other than Wave Murano Glass. These cookies allow us to offer you our commercial proposal on other affiliated websites (known as "retargeting"). We have no control over the information provided by third-party cookies and do not have access to such data. This information is entirely controlled by third-party companies as described in their respective privacy policies. Acceptance of cookies

We remind you that, except as stated above, by accessing the "Privacy Center" tab, you can manage your cookie consent intuitively and selectively using simple "On"/"Off" buttons. Configuring your internet browser (e.g. Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) to accept the use of cookies is also considered valid consent from the user.

Please note that your consent will only be required during your first access to the Site; subsequently, through the use of a technical cookie, we will store your consent to allow you direct access to the Site pages when you return (without prejudice to your right to deactivate/activate cookies at any time or delete them; see paragraph 5): in this case, the Site will request your consent again.

Also, if the user registers on the Site and provides their specific consent to monitor their browsing during registration, the data related to browsing the Site may be associated with their personal data.

In case of non-acceptance of cookies by abandoning navigation, any cookies already registered locally in your browser will remain there but will no longer be read or used by Wave Murano Glass Srl until a later and eventual acceptance of the Cookie Policy. You will always have the option to remove such cookies at any time using the methods mentioned in the paragraph "Deactivation/deletion of cookies via web browser."
