The Otre Vase takes inspiration from ancient amphorae—traditional clay vessels once used to store and transport liquids—and reinterprets their familiar proportions through handcrafted Murano glass.
Its sculptural silhouette, gently fading colours and matte surface create an intriguing contrast between historical inspiration and contemporary design.
An Ancient Form, Reimagined in Glass
Otre recalls the rounded bodies and distinctive proportions of antique storage vessels, but replaces their earthy terracotta surfaces with coloured glass.
This change of material gives the design a completely different visual character.
Where an ancient amphora would appear solid and opaque, Otre introduces subtle transitions of colour and transparency, allowing the form to interact with its surroundings.
The result is a decorative object that feels connected to the past without appearing traditionally ornate.
Soft Gradients and Sandblasted Texture
Otre's defining decorative features are its colour fading and sandblasted finish.
The collection is available in two combinations: Matte Grey/Fumè and Matte Grey/Amber.
The Grey/Fumè version creates a restrained palette of smoky tones, particularly appealing in neutral and contemporary interiors.
Grey/Amber introduces a warmer transition, bringing a subtle golden accent to the sculptural form.
The sandblasted surface diffuses reflections, giving the glass a softer appearance than a polished vase and emphasizing the gradual changes in colour.
Two Shapes for Different Interiors
Otre is available in two proportions: a rounded version measuring 33 cm high and 23 cm in diameter, and a taller, slimmer version measuring 45 cm high and 17 cm in diameter.
The wider shape works beautifully on a dining table, sideboard or console, where its generous curves can be appreciated.
The taller version introduces a stronger vertical accent, making it particularly suitable for narrow display surfaces or decorative arrangements with objects of different heights.
Displayed together, the two forms create a composition that balances contrasting proportions with a shared design identity.
Handcrafted in Murano
Each Otre Vase is individually made by Roberto Beltrami and his team of glassmakers in the Wave furnace.
Custom sizes and colours are also available on request, allowing the design to be adapted to a particular interior.
