Shangai Murano Glass Chandelier: Refined Venetian Design with Rigadin Glass
Traditional Venetian lighting doesn't have to feel confined to classical interiors.
The Shangai Murano Glass Chandelier brings together ornamental glassmaking and a more contemporary approach to colour, creating a design that feels elegant without being overly elaborate.
Handcrafted by Roberto Beltrami and his team in our Murano furnace, Shangai is part of our transitional lighting collection, where traditional forms meet modern interiors.
The Beauty of Rigadin Glass
One of Shangai's most distinctive features is its rigadin texture.
This traditional ribbed glass decoration introduces delicate lines into the material, creating additional visual depth as light moves across the surface.
Elegant glass leaves complement the textured elements, bringing a softer, organic quality to the chandelier's silhouette.
The upward-facing lights complete the composition, maintaining the familiar proportions of Venetian chandelier design.
Together, these details create a piece that rewards a closer look without overwhelming the surrounding interior.
Two Colour Combinations
Shangai is available in Grey and Clear or Orange and Clear.
The grey combination offers a restrained, sophisticated appearance, particularly suited to interiors with neutral palettes and contemporary materials.
Orange introduces a warmer, more expressive character, allowing the chandelier to become a distinctive colour accent.
Both versions retain the transparency of clear glass, emphasizing the relationship between light, texture and decorative form.
Choose the Right Scale for Your Room
Shangai is offered in two configurations.
The six-light version measures approximately 88 cm high and 80 cm in diameter, making it suitable for a generously proportioned dining room or living area.
The larger 4+8-light configuration measures approximately 140 cm high and 118 cm in diameter, offering a more substantial presence for larger spaces.
The choice allows you to preserve the same design language while selecting a scale appropriate to your interior.
A Contemporary Way to Enjoy Venetian Craftsmanship
Shangai combines the decorative expertise of Murano glassmakers with colours and proportions that can work in both traditional and contemporary spaces.
It can also be crafted upon commission for projects requiring a more individual approach.
Choose Shangai to bring the subtle beauty of textured Murano glass and Venetian lighting into your home.
