The creation of Spike begins with a coloured glass body that forms the interior of the vase.
Layers of clear molten glass are then applied around its exterior.
While the material remains intensely hot, the glassmakers use tweezers to pull the glass outward, forming the distinctive spikes one by one.
This demanding process requires speed, precision and careful temperature control.
The substantial mass of molten glass must remain at a suitable working temperature throughout production, making every stage a challenge of timing and craftsmanship.
The result is an extraordinary textured surface that could never be replicated with the same individuality through ordinary industrial production.
Colour Beneath a Sculptural Surface
Spike is available in an expressive selection of polished colours and combinations.
Choose from Blue, Amethyst, Grey, Topaz and Yellow, or explore combinations such as Blue/Aquamarine, Green/Amber and Red/Grey.
